Mortda Estate grows single-origin coffee in the Haraz mountains of Yemen — one of the world's oldest coffee regions, where volcanic soil and altitude above 2,100 meters create conditions that cannot be replicated. We control every step from seed to sealed bag, because exceptional coffee demands exactly that.

Stage I
Green Cherry
In the cool mountain climate, each green cherry matures slowly for months, patiently building the deep reserves of complex sugars that define a world-class coffee.
Stage II
Red Cherry
Glowing like jewels on the branch, each cherry is left to ripen to a perfect, uniform crimson — signalling the absolute peak of its natural sweetness and flavour.
Stage III
The Harvest
With the precision of vintners, our skilled harvesters sweep the estate in multiple passes, ensuring every single cherry is hand-picked at its perfect moment of ripeness.

Processing
Drying
Through a slow, sun-kissed alchemy on raised beds, whole cherries dry naturally — infusing the bean inside with its iconic, complex, fruit-forward Yemeni profile.
Homogenization
A crucial resting period follows, allowing moisture to stabilise and harmonise, locking in the coffee's vibrant character for perfect consistency in the final cup.
Hulling
In the great reveal, the dried cherry husk is gently milled away, unveiling the dense, flawless green bean — the precious heart of our year-long craft.
